Maui tours and activitiesSome of Maui’s top attractions require reservations, sometimes months in advance. Seeing the sun rise atop Haleakalā , wading the black sands of Wai‘ānapanapa State Park beach or walking in the footsteps of chiefs and warriors at ‘Īao Valley State Monument are a few of the reasons Maui is mystical and magical.
So many beaches, so little time, but here are a few highlights. In West Maui, head to the golden crescent sands of Kā‘anapali or Kapalua beaches. In South Maui, choose from the 3 Kama‘ole beaches in Kīhei or check this out for the best Maui beaches.
Maui is a haven for winter whale watching and year-round snorkeling at stunning places like Olowalu with its centuries old coral and ‘Āhihi-Kīna‘u Natural Area Reserve. Otherwise, take a surf lesson, go kayaking or fish from a boat or the shore.
Journey to Upcountry to the cowboy town of Makawao and the farming community of Kula where you can visit Kula Country Farms, Surfing Goat Dairy, or Maui Pineapple. In West Maui, visit Ku‘ia Chocolate or the Dragon Fruit Farm and other Farm Tours across Maui.
Some easy Maui trails include the Kapalua Coastal or Village Walking Trails and Kā‘anapali Beach Walk. in South Maui, stroll the paved Wailea Coastal Walk or hike Twin Falls in Ha‘ikū. The Ke‘anae Arboretum is less known but you must see the Rainbow Eucalyptus trees.
Play on Maui’s award-winning golf courses with spectacular settings. Tee up at the fairways of the PGA pros at Kapalua’s Plantation Course or at the Kā‘anapali Golf Courses. In South Maui you’ll find luxury Wailea Golf Club or the fun and affordable Maui Nui Golf Club.
